Pre-Retirement Seminar

The Fall 2026 Pre-Retirement Seminar will be held at Rate Field (Sox Park) in the CIBC Conference and Learning Center on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Agenda updates and additional details are posted on our website under Pre-Retirement Seminar. Registration is limited to 120 participants. The Fall seminar is currently wait-listed, if your plans have changed and you cannot attend, please contact the Fund by emailing seminar@fabf.org. The Fund will prioritize waitlist openings to members that are retiring in November and December in 2026.

Member Trustee Election Information

Notice of Active Member Elections 2026
Under provisions of Section 6-175 of Chapter 40, Act 5, Article 6 of the Illinois Pension Code, an election will be held to fill the office of Active Firefighter Member Trustee of the Retirement Board which becomes vacant December 1, 2026, by reason of the expiration of the term of a present incumbent. Under provisions of the Illinois Pension Code, an election was held to fill the office of the Annuitant Member Trustee of the Retirement Board. The new term will run from December 1, 2025, through December 1, 2028.  Click here to see the certified results.

Only one active member candidate registered a ‘Statement of Candidacy’ for the Fall Election. Accordingly, the Election Committee recommended that he be affirmed as the winner of the Active Member Trustee Election. His new term runs through December 1, 2028. Pre-Retirement Seminar

The 2026 Fall Pre-Retirement Seminar is scheduled to be held at Guaranteed Rate Field (Sox Park) in the Wintrust Conference and Learning Center. The date for the seminar is Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Registration is limited to 120 and we are at capacity for the spring event. Please register with the Fund via email at seminar@fabf.org to confirm participation or cancel if your plans have changed.
